Uhm, I give it one Pluto and half an asteroid.

106? They fold up like wet cardboard, a trend popularised by the 205 and many a car before it.

Pah, that was 2009. Probably wouldn't do better than three now because not enough safety thingies. Speaking of which, I see that the latest Mégane lost out because its "rear seatbelt not applied" display didn't read in enough languages.

Indeed, they've all the structural integrity of a meringue. I love it regardless, and there are few cars I want more in this world than a 205 GTi. If you like old Peugeot hatches, you have to accept a certain amount of danger into your life, sadly.

Drove a 205 once. You could tell when you reached 95 kmh because the noise and vibration reached a crescendo. Curiously enough if you pressed on and took your life in your hands it would reach 130 with rather less fuss having seemingly either left it behind or drowned it in wind noise. Still felt like an unusually quick voiture sans permis though.

My 106 isn't so bad on the noise and vibration, though it is quite a bit newer. I didn't think 205s qualified as voiture sans permis? They've a boot, for one thing, and they're sized like any other supermini from the era.

No, it just felt like a vsp...160,000 km does that to them

Yeah, 160,000 km generally isn't good to any car, but it's not like the 205 was exactly renowned for its build quality in the first place. Fairly excellent rust protection for the era, though.
